Colegio Adventista Tupac Amaru
CATA is an Adventist primary and secondary school in Juliaca, Peru, looking to expand their ministry into agricultural education. Our team offered a site and architectural plan to forward this goal. Using Google Earth, drone photography, Revit, and Photoshop, our team was able to deliver a cohesive plan for the site.

Hamlet Site Plan. Our goal was to bring the farm close to the dwellings in order to fully immerse the students into the agricultural experience.

Full Site Plan. 80% of the site was reserved for staple and experimental crops, leaving 20% for a hamlet, where students could live and work. Ancient Peruvian agricultural techniques called waru-waru were used in the cropland, and the site was designed to be 100% self-sustaining.

The landscaping was kept fairly rustic: compacted Earth paths, indigenous stone walls, thatch roofed buildings. Only local plants are seen in the renderings. As the site is topographically flat, drainage canals were designed to deal with rainwater. Designed by Susanne Lake & Geselle Alfaro. Rendering by Geselle Alfaro.
